The farm stay
The farm holiday centre consists of the ancient farmers’ houses
perfectly restructured respecting their original structure but adding to
them all modern comforts.
All around the central part of the farm, as a part of the Mediterranean
vegetation of Calabria, there are other autonomous units that, in their
harmonic disposition, witness the beauty of a spontaneous architecture,
and are the frame for the panoramic swimming pool and a six places
hydromassage bath with hot water for the cold season.
In the farm you can also enjoy common spaces and services such as the
reception, the panoramic terrace , a wide living room, a TV room, a
meeting room, fax, computer and internet service, sport spaces and paths
for walking.
The wideness of the farm area, allows the guests to do excursions and
naturalistic routes among lentils, myrtle, Aleppo pines, carobs,
oleanders, rosemary, cappers and others spices. There are equipped
places to stop and have a rest, read or admire the beautiful landscape.
History
The most important
historical proof, which is the symbol of the
farm and of the territory is the Tower; it can
be seen by every corner of the farm and
dominates the whole landscape. Part of the farm
is a Chapel (called “Madonna del Cafaro”),
situated in an hidden place towards Albidona,
ancient prebend of the Basiliani monks, still
nowadays a devotion place for the inhabitants of
the small village. The country around the farm
is up to 80 hectares, owned by the proprietors
since the beginning of the XIXth century, and
before to the Basilian monks, that built the
tower, and to the Duke of Campochiaro, marquis
of Albidona, who was the foreign minister of
Gioacchino Murat’s government.
